Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex

Finished this today feeling like it could have had more.   Yes, Eoin Colfer's wit is still in place, but I thought that it was just finished too quick.   There was really only three different action set-pieces in the story, and the first of these takes over half the book, which was quite drawn-out.
I did like Artemis' multiple-personality order and his fear of the number four, a superstition I have myself!
I enjoyed the book, but really, not much happened in it and it seems to be just a pathway to the next book, which I hope isn't too far behind.   There wasn't enough of the description of Atlantis either, the city which has been alluded to in other books, but never explored.   Hopefully Eoin Colfer will use Atlantis as the setting for a future Artemis.

Anyone read it? Anyone read any of these? Let's get some talking going!

Hi, and 'Under the Dome'

HI!
Derekca here, just started this.
It'll mainly be a blog on movies, books and games, but also possibly football, or anything else that comes to mind.

A Book review: Under the Dome by Stephen King

This is actually the first Stephen King book I've read, just picked it up because it was cheap and I liked the concept.   It plays out basically like a screenplay, from several different perspectives.   The reader can be anywhere from inside someone's thoughts to floating through a town with the narrator.
The book turns out to be a fas-paced and lively, bloody and entertaining look at small-town life in America, amplified by the pressure of a dome, which does not let anyone in or out.   This brings out the best and worst of the characters, and King manages to introduce around a hundred characters by the end, killing most of them in the process too!
Rating: 4/5
If anyone has any thoughts on this, or any recommendations for more King books, I'd love to hear it.   Thanks and talk to you soon!
